I am happy to share that we recently were approved funding from JGI for six different metabolomics and metatranscriptomics experiments! It will involve temperature acclimation of three different species of phytoplankton co-cultured with both laboratory strains of heterotrophic bacteria and natural communities. There is a bit more to read on JGIs webpage, and we already have two experiments behind us.
