Our most recent paper demonstrate changes in diatom endometabolome in exponential and stationary growth phases the grown together with three heterotrophic bacterial taxa. We used a combination of NMR and transcriptomics (for the bacteria and diatom) to trace production, release and estimated utilization of the phytoplankton and bacteria.
